1. Compile photos of all the people that you will be giving Christmas presents for on your list. These pictures can be current ones or even ones of the past. It is important to have some great pictures of the people on your shopping list. The pictures that you will want to use for the gift tags will have a clear face shot when possible. Individual photos will work better then group shots for this craft.

2. Step 2

   Print out one photo for each Christmas gift that you will be giving. The basic custom gift tag will be printed in color. If you would like to make yours more interesting try printing the photos in sepia for an old time look. Choose a size for the photos that will work well as a gift tag. Your final gift tag for your Christmas gifts will be slightly larger then your initial photos.

3. Step 3

   Choose a sheet of colored construction paper to be the backing for your custom Christmas gift tags. The most popular choices for color would be red and green. You can choose whatever color that you think that the recipient of the Christmas gift may like.

   Place the photo of the gift's recipient on the piece of paper. Secure it in place with acid free glue. Allow the glue to dry before going to the next step.

   Cut around the photo that is attached to the construction paper to form the final size of your custom gift tag for Christmas. You can use scissors that create a pattern to give the outline of the custom gift tag a special flair.

6. Step 6

   Write on the back of the photo gift tag your message to the person and sign your name. Attach the custom gift tag to your Christmas gift.

7. Step 7

   You can add other items to your custom gift tag if you would like. One way to make it even more special is to attach the tag to the Christmas gift with a printed ribbon. You can also use glitter and other cut outs on the gift tag.
